Brand trials, free vitamins, supermarket clubs and NCT — each with a claim path and an official link. This is information, not a promise that any item will arrive.
Every card below also lists the price of “free”: the data you hand over, whether marketing consent is a condition, what the privacy policy says about sharing with partners, and how to get out again. Public schemes ask for application data and nothing else; brand and retailer clubs are paid for with your due date, your inbox and your shopping history. Where we could not read a provider’s own page, the card says so rather than guessing.

Healthy Start vitamins (England & Wales)
NHS Healthy Start
Free vitamin tablets in pregnancy and while breastfeeding, plus vitamin drops for children under 4, if you are on the NHS Healthy Start scheme.
What you get. An 8-week supply: 56 tablets (1 a day) with folic acid, vitamin C and vitamin D; or 280 drops (5 a day) with vitamins A, C and D. Products are vegetarian and suitable for a halal diet.
Who it is for. You must already be on NHS Healthy Start. Tablets cover pregnancy and up to your baby’s first birthday. Drops cover children from birth to their 4th birthday. Children having 500ml or more of infant formula a day do not need the drops.

How to claim
- Apply for Healthy Start first at the NHS Healthy Start site if you are more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4 and meet the benefit rules (or you are under 18 and pregnant).
- Ask your midwife or health visitor where to collect vitamins locally. In England you can also search who stocks them; in Wales ask for the nearest community pharmacy collection point.
- Show your NHS Healthy Start card when you collect the vitamins.
This is not medical advice. Do not take more than the recommended amount. If your child has 500ml or more of formula a day, the official page says they do not need Healthy Start vitamin drops.

Healthy Start vitamins posted in Northern Ireland
NHS Healthy Start / Business Services Organisation
Once you are on Healthy Start in Northern Ireland, vitamins are requested by letter or email and posted to you.
What you get. The same Healthy Start tablets and children’s drops as the rest of the scheme, posted after your request is checked.
Who it is for. You must live in Northern Ireland and be a confirmed Healthy Start beneficiary.

How to claim
- Apply for Healthy Start and wait for your successful application to be confirmed.
- Watch for a letter or email within about 10 working days explaining how to request vitamins. If it does not arrive, call 0300 330 7010.
- Submit the request. The Business Services Organisation posts the vitamins to you.
Collection in a shop is the England and Wales route. Northern Ireland uses a postal request.

Healthy Start prepaid card
NHS Healthy Start
A prepaid card, topped up every 4 weeks, to buy milk, fruit, vegetables, pulses and cow’s-milk infant formula if you qualify.
What you get. Official scheme rules (checked 2026-08-14) state top-ups of £4.65 a week from 10 weeks of pregnancy, £9.30 a week from birth to age 1, and £4.65 a week from age 1 to 4, paid every 4 weeks. You can also collect free vitamins.
Who it is for. More than 10 weeks pregnant or a child under 4, living in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, and on a qualifying benefit — or under 18 and more than 10 weeks pregnant. Scotland uses Best Start Foods instead. Some families with no recourse to public funds and a British child under 4 may still qualify; see GOV.UK.

How to claim
- Read the current rules on GOV.UK and the NHS Healthy Start site — amounts and qualifying benefits change.
- Apply on the NHS Healthy Start website. If you have no recourse to public funds, GOV.UK explains the separate email form route.
- Use the card only on permitted foods in participating shops. Ask your midwife or health visitor about free vitamins once the card arrives.

Free pregnancy vitamins in Scotland
Scottish Government / NHS Scotland
Every pregnant woman in Scotland can get free vitamins with folic acid, vitamin C and vitamin D — no Healthy Start claim needed.
What you get. The same Healthy Start-style tablets the Scottish Government lists as 70mg vitamin C, 10 micrograms vitamin D and 400 micrograms folic acid, throughout pregnancy.
Who it is for. Universal for pregnant women in Scotland. You do not apply through Healthy Start.

How to claim
- Tell your midwife you want the free pregnancy vitamins at your antenatal appointments.
- If they are not handed over in clinic, ask your health visitor, family nurse, or whether your NHS board stocks them at a community pharmacy or dispensing practice.
- There is no separate online application for the vitamins themselves.
This is information about a public scheme, not a recommendation to take a supplement. Ask your midwife if you need a higher folic acid dose.

Free vitamin D in Scotland (breastfeeding and under 3s)
Scottish Government / NHS Scotland
Scotland also offers free vitamin D supplements to people who breastfeed and to children under 3.
What you get. Free vitamin D supplements. Food Standards Scotland also notes a daily 10 microgram vitamin D supplement is recommended in pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
Who it is for. Breastfeeding mothers and children under 3 in Scotland. Official pages say you do not have to apply.

How to claim
- Ask your midwife, health visitor or family nurse for the free vitamin D supplements.
- No online form is required on the official policy page.
- If you also need help buying food, apply separately for Best Start Foods.

Best Start Foods (Scotland)
Social Security Scotland
Scotland’s prepaid card for healthy food in pregnancy and until a child turns 3. Replaces Healthy Start if you live in Scotland.
What you get. A prepaid card paid every 4 weeks. mygov.scot (checked 2026-08-14) lists £22.40 during pregnancy, £44.80 for each child from birth to 1, and £22.40 for each child aged 1 to 3. You can apply for Best Start Grant on the same form.
Who it is for. Live in Scotland and be pregnant or have a child under 3, plus a qualifying benefit — or you are under 18 (and some 18–19 cases). Some families with no access to public funds can still apply for a child. You cannot get Healthy Start in Scotland.

How to claim
- Read the current rules on mygov.scot — payment amounts and qualifying benefits are updated there.
- Apply online as soon as you know you are pregnant, or up until your child turns 3. You can apply for Best Start Grant payments on the same form.
- Use the prepaid card in shops and online on the foods the scheme allows. Check your balance on the official card guidance.
Amounts are from mygov.scot on the check date, not a personal entitlement calculation.

- No marketing to stop. To change or end a claim, call Social Security Scotland free on 0800 182 2222 (8am–5pm, Monday to Friday).
- Time cost
- mygov.scot says most people take 10–20 minutes; the online form cannot be saved and resumed
- Worth it if
- you live in Scotland and meet the benefit rules; the same form also covers Best Start Grant, so one sitting does two jobs.
Maternity exemption certificate (free NHS prescriptions and dental)
NHS Business Services Authority
A certificate that makes NHS prescriptions free in pregnancy and for 12 months after birth, and is also proof for free NHS dental treatment while you are pregnant.
What you get. A digital certificate by email if your clinician uses the digital service, or a paper certificate within about 10 working days. Valid until 12 months after the relevant date on the certificate.
Who it is for. You are pregnant, or you have given birth (including a registerable stillbirth) in the last 12 months, at the time of application. NHSBSA is clear: it is the certificate that entitles you, not pregnancy on its own. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own NHS charging rules — ask your midwife.

How to claim
- Ask your midwife, GP or health visitor as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed. You cannot apply yourself.
- Give an email address if you want the digital certificate immediately. Otherwise they submit a paper FW8.
- If you pay for a prescription before the certificate arrives, ask the pharmacy for an FP57 receipt so you can claim a refund. Tick box D on the prescription form once you have a valid certificate.
Claiming without a valid certificate can lead to a penalty charge. You must reapply for a later pregnancy; certificates are not extended.
What it costs you

- Your midwife, GP or health visitor completes the application (paper FW8 or the digital service): name, address, date of birth, NHS number and due date

- A couple of minutes at an antenatal appointment; paper certificates arrive within about 10 working days
- Worth it if
- you pay for prescriptions in England — in Wales prescriptions are already free, so there its main use is as proof for free NHS dental treatment.
Boots Parenting Club
Boots
Free Boots Advantage Card add-on for pregnancy and children under 5, with extra points on selected baby lines and member offers.
What you get. Boots’ Parenting Club page states members collect 8 points for every £1 on selected baby and child products, plus club offers. Seasonal Baby Events often add extra points. Offers change.
Who it is for. UK Boots Advantage Card members who are expecting or have a child under 5. You must enter a due date or a child’s date of birth.

How to claim
- Join Boots Advantage Card for free in store or at boots.com if you do not already have one.
- Open Parenting Club (boots.com/baby-child/parenting-club) and enter your due date or your child’s date of birth.
- Scan your Advantage Card on baby and child buys. Check the app or site before a Baby Event for the current extra-points list.
Points rates and ‘selected’ lines are set by Boots and can change. This is a loyalty club, not a promise of a free hamper.
What it costs you

- Join form (read 2026-09-09): either your due date, or for each child under 5 their name, date of birth and gender — all marked required
- Your purchases are linked to the card every time you scan it

- The join form points to the ‘Personal Information’ page in your Boots account for contact details and preferences; emails carry an unsubscribe link. The route for leaving the club itself is not stated on the join page — the Advantage Card terms link in the same menu is the place to check.
- Time cost
- 5-minute form if you already hold an Advantage Card; the points only arrive when you scan the card or app in store or online
- Worth it if
- you already buy nappies, toiletries or pharmacy items at Boots and scan the card anyway; otherwise the extra points do not pay for the extra post, email and phone contact.
Asda Rewards Baby & Toddler Club
Asda
Opt-in club inside the free Asda Rewards app for extra cashpot rewards on baby shops.
What you get. The official Asda Rewards app listing describes exclusive offers and content for the Baby & Toddler Club. Third-party explainers (2026) describe extra cashpot when you spend on selected baby lines. Missions and rates change.
Who it is for. You need the free Asda Rewards app. You must opt in to Baby & Toddler Club — it is not automatic. Asda Rewards is widely available across UK Asda stores.

- Scan the app in store or shop while signed in online. Watch for Asda / George Baby & Toddler Events for extra reductions.
Launch bonuses such as a temporary 10% cashpot have expiry dates. Always read the live offer in the app.

Morrisons More Baby & Toddler Club
Morrisons
Free opt-in club on Morrisons More for parents of children under 5, with extra points boosters on baby lines.
What you get. Member prices, More Points, and extra Baby & Toddler offers (often Nutmeg nappies, baby food and café boosters). Seasonal Baby Events add further reductions.
Who it is for. UK residents 16+ can join Morrisons More. Baby & Toddler Club is for a registered child up to age 5.

- Join Morrisons More for free in the Morrisons More app or at my.morrisons.com (use an existing Morrisons grocery login if you have one).

- Scan the digital More card on every shop. Check the app before a Baby Event.
The Baby & Toddler Club lives inside More; there is no separate public join URL. Other More ‘clubs’ have been withdrawn in the past.

- Morrisons is your weekly shop and you want boosted points on Nutmeg baby lines; the club is a filter on offers you must still activate, not a parcel.
Tesco Clubcard and Baby & Toddler Event
Tesco
Tesco no longer runs a separate Baby Club. Clubcard is the free supermarket club; Baby & Toddler Events add extra Clubcard Prices on nappies, wipes, food and kit.
What you get. Clubcard Prices year-round, plus deeper Baby & Toddler Event prices a few times a year (typically early year, spring and summer). Tesco’s Fred & Flo range is the own-brand baby line.
Who it is for. Anyone can join Clubcard for free. Event prices are for Clubcard holders during the published event dates.

How to claim
- Register a Tesco account and tick ‘I’d like to join Clubcard today’, or join in the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app. Tesco emails a Clubcard number if you do not have a plastic card.
- Add the digital Clubcard to your phone and scan it on every shop, including baby lines.
- Watch tesco.com groceries Baby & Toddler for the next Baby & Toddler Event rather than looking for a retired Baby Club sign-up.
Older ‘Tesco Baby Club’ URLs now redirect into groceries. Do not expect a separate baby-club welcome box.
What it costs you

- Tesco is already your supermarket — there is no baby data to hand over, only shopping history, and event prices need nothing more than the card.
Nectar card at Sainsbury’s (baby events)
Sainsbury’s / Nectar
Sainsbury’s uses Nectar rather than a named Little Ones club. The free card unlocks points and seasonal Baby Event prices.
What you get. Nectar points on Sainsbury’s shops, member prices, and extra reductions on nappies, formula and baby food during Baby Events. Emma’s Diary has also listed Sainsbury’s as a collection store for one of its later gift packs — check the live voucher.
Who it is for. UK shoppers can join Nectar for free. Baby Event dates are announced in store and online and are less regular than Tesco’s.

- Join Nectar for free at nectar.com or in the Nectar / Sainsbury’s app.
- Scan Nectar on every Sainsbury’s shop, including baby aisles.
- Look out for in-store and online Baby Event banners; dates are not on a fixed public calendar.
A historic ‘Sainsbury’s Little Ones’ club is not currently offered as a separate joinable club on the public site.

Superdrug Health & Beautycard
Superdrug
Free pharmacy loyalty card with member prices, points and app-only free-product drops that often include baby and toiletry lines.
What you get. Official page: lower member prices, 100 points = £1, mix points and cash, free standard delivery over £20 for members, plus app-only free products and events. Baby and pregnancy lines appear in member prices and events.
Who it is for. Pick up and register a free Health & Beautycard. NHS staff and students can also use the card for the advertised 10% discount with valid ID.

- Pick up a free Health & Beautycard in a Superdrug store, or start online at superdrug.com/beautycard.
- Register the card on a Superdrug account or in the app so points work in store and online.
- Present the card at the till and check the app for free-product and extra-points events before you buy baby toiletries.
Free-product drops are limited and change weekly. Not a dedicated baby club.

- you already buy toiletries at Superdrug and want the app’s free-product drops; there is no baby-specific data cost.
Lidl Plus (Big Baby Event coupons)
Lidl
Free Lidl Plus app is the club. Lidl’s Big Baby Event and weekly coupons are how parents unlock extra baby savings.

What you get. A 15% discount on eligible baby items sold and dispatched by Amazon, on a combined value of up to £2,000, maximum £300 off. Excludes nappies, infant formula and books.
Who it is for. Amazon account holders who create a Baby Wishlist. Official rules: the list must be active at least 14 days; the discount window starts 180 days before the due date you entered and ends 90 days after it. Only the primary registrant can redeem.

- Sign in and create a Baby Wishlist (Amazon’s explainer links from aboutamazon.co.uk; the registry lives on amazon.co.uk).
- Enter your due date and add eligible items. Keep the list active for at least 14 days.
- When the discount card appears, add items from Your Wishlist, tick ‘Use my discount’ at checkout. Confirm live T&Cs on Amazon — they change.
This is a completion discount, not a free hamper. We do not list an unverified ‘welcome box’.

Questions parents ask about the price of “free”
- Are baby freebies really free?
- Public schemes such as Healthy Start, Best Start Foods and Bookstart ask for application data and nothing else. Brand and retailer clubs are paid for differently: you hand over a due date or a child’s date of birth, agree to some level of contact, and your shopping or scanning history builds a profile. The sample or points are the visible part of that exchange.
- What does “marketing consent: required” mean on a card?
- It means the provider’s own sign-up page treats agreeing to marketing or promotional contact as part of joining, rather than a separate tick you can leave blank. “Optional” means there is a separate box. “None” means no marketing is attached at all. “Unclear” means the provider’s page blocked our checker, so we could not read it and you should before you join.
- Which schemes ask for the least data?
- Scotland’s free pregnancy vitamins and vitamin D need only a word with your midwife. Bookstart Baby is handed over by a health visitor or registrar with no form. The NHS Best Start in Life emails and the NCT Pregnancy & Baby Guide take a name, an email and a due date. Everything from a brand needs an account.
- How do I stop the emails once I have the pack?
- Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or the preferences page in your account — each card lists the route the provider itself describes. Under UK GDPR and PECR an organisation must stop marketing once you object, and you can ask it to delete your account data. If it carries on, the ICO takes complaints about unwanted marketing emails.
- Can I use a separate email address for baby clubs?
- Yes. A dedicated address keeps club emails out of your main inbox and makes it obvious who shared or sold your details if unrelated marketing starts arriving. Give a real due date only where the freebie is timed to it; a wrong date can move your vouchers to the wrong stage.
