How do I check a second-hand Asda George Home sleepbag for the snap-button recall?

What does the 2023 George Home sleepbag notice actually say?

OPSS published Product Recall: George Home Sleepbags (Eight Models) sold by Asda (2306-0073) on 26 June 2023. The product type is sleepbags. The hazard line is choking: snap buttons can become loose and detach, producing a small part a young child may place in their mouth. The notice also states the products do not meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Corrective action on that page is a recall from end users by Asda. Owners must stop using the product immediately and return it to their local Asda store for a full refund. Further information is pointed to Asda’s own recall URL named on the notice.

Why do these bags still turn up on Vinted and in hand-me-downs?

The notice is from 2023. Character prints stay in circulation because families pass them on and marketplace sellers reuse old photos. The Lullaby Trust’s second-hand page says search “product recalls” on GOV.UK and take a phone if you are buying in person. A listing that says “Asda sleepbag” without a barcode is unfinished homework, not a cleared bag.
