How to check a car seat pram adaptor recall in the UK
Why is a pram adaptor listed under baby car seats?
OPSS files some click-on adaptors in the same category as infant carriers: Childcare articles and children’s equipment — Baby Car/Booster Seats. If you search only the carrier brand, or only the word “pram”, you can miss the adaptor notice.
The Joolz Aer2 Car Seat Adapter Set notice (2605-0189), published 29 May 2026, is that pattern. The product is a black adaptor set. The official hazard describes the adaptor failing to lock with the spring-loaded pin on the Aer2 chassis, with a risk the carrier could detach and fall. This page does not judge fit or lock quality — it only shows how to match the notice.

Official records show a recall from end users by Joolz, with a stop-using line and links to Joolz’s replacement registration and to John Lewis product recalls for units sold there. That is the matching notice, not a verdict on other adaptor brands.
How do I check the adaptor without mixing it up with the carrier?
- Take the adaptor off the pram Photograph the plastic pair themselves. Labels on the infant carrier and on the pram chassis are different products.
- Copy article, barcode and serial Look for a sticker on the adaptor body or the pair’s hang-tag. Write the article code, the 13-digit barcode and the full serial, including the prefix (for Aer2, the notice names NL311-).
- Search GOV.UK as a car-seat product On the OPSS list, try the adaptor name, the article code and the barcode. Open any hit under Baby Car/Booster Seats and compare the table.
- Use only the contact the notice names The Joolz record points to Joolz’s replacement registration and [email protected], plus John Lewis recalls for that retailer. Do not send a different brand’s adaptor to that inbox.
- Repeat for the carrier Run a separate search on the infant-carrier serial. One clear part does not clear the other.
If the infant carrier has no recall on file, is the adaptor in the clear?
No listing for the carrier means no recall on file for that carrier. The Aer2 adaptor notice does not ask for a Britax, Maxi-Cosi or other shell serial. Child Car Seats is a useful signpost for seat and base campaigns; still search OPSS for the word “adapter” or “adaptor” plus your pram brand.
A second-hand pram sold “with adaptors” can mix years. Match the sticker on the pair you hold, not the year the chassis was first sold.
Does a recall match tell me the adaptor fits my pram?
No. A notice match is a product-identity check. Compatibility between a named carrier and a named pram is a different question, set by the makers’ current lists. This guide does not give a fit or lock verdict.
If the article, barcode or serial has been removed, you cannot show the Aer2 notice does not apply. Treat a missing adaptor label as an incomplete check, not as a pass.

- Yes, as keywords on the official list — that is how the Aer2 record is titled. In everyday UK wording the same part is a pram adaptor. Match the printed article, barcode and serial either way.
- My serial does not start with NL311-. Does that end the Joolz notice?
- The 2605-0189 table says the Aer2 set starts with NL311-. A different prefix is outside that sentence. It is not an all-clear for other adaptor notices. Search the article code and barcode as well.
- John Lewis sold my pair. Do I still use the Joolz form?
- The OPSS page names both Joolz’s replacement registration and the John Lewis recalls page. Use the route that matches where it was sold, as the notice sets out.
- Can I check the adaptor on a brand car-seat serial tool?
- Only if that tool’s field is the adaptor serial and the notice points there. A carrier checker (for example a Britax infant-carrier form) will not match an adaptor article code.
