Take-to-seller checklist

Baby monitor

A second-hand monitor may use a worn battery, a mismatched charger or an old firmware build. OPSS advises checking instructions and that nobody has modified the kit. This list does not turn a monitor into a medical alarm.

Look for UKCA or CE marking and a UK three-pin plug (BS 1363). Use only the maker’s power supply.

  • Anyone presents it as a device that will “prevent SIDS”.
