Take-to-seller checklist

Pram, pushchair or travel system

Which? and trading-standards advice is to inspect a pushchair in person before you pay — “collection only” listings are easier. Take this list to the kerb or the church-hall sale.

Look for a permanent label showing BS EN 1888 (current issue is BS EN 1888:2018+A1:2022, parts 1 and 2).

Hands-on at the meeting

Walk away if

  • No BS EN 1888 label.
  • The frame does not lock open, or the brake does not hold.
  • The harness is missing, frayed, or a three-point belt on a seat that should be five-point.
  • Rusted joints, cracked plastic catches, or a wobble you cannot explain.
  • Official records on GOV.UK list a recall for this model.
