How to use the Aldi Specialbuys leaflet before baby event day
Where does the leaflet appear, and when?
Aldi's Understanding Specialbuys page names three previews: a paper leaflet in store, the digital leaflet, and an email sneak preview. The main Specialbuys hub is also where the week’s Thursday and Sunday dates sit. Baby Event UK says that when a baby event is on, the weekly flyer is packed with the range.
Older PlayPennies posts about pre-ordering a baby event online describe a previous setup. Aldi's current Specialbuys wording is exclusively available in store. Use the leaflet as a list, not as a basket.
NHS Best Start in Life says you do not need everything for a newborn straight away. The leaflet is for crossing off what was already on your list — not for filling a trolley because a line is marked "while stocks last".
How do I read Thursday versus Sunday on the flyer?
Aldi publishes two drop days. The hub lists upcoming Thursday and Sunday dates separately. A baby event is usually one of those days (often Thursday), not both lists glued together. If the flyer stamps "in stores Thursday", that SKU is not a Sunday leftover plan.

How do I use the leaflet and stock checker together?
- Open the digital leaflet as soon as it appears Write a short list of items you already needed. Ignore character toys and books unless they were on that list. Penny Pincher's 2026 recap makes the same money point: limited stock is not a reason to buy a spare you will not use.
- Note the on-sale day on each tile Thursday lines and Sunday lines are different published drops. A Sunday cage is not a reprint of Thursday's baby event.
- After the on-sale day, run the stock checker if you need a second branch Aldi's product-detail page states the checker is updated frequently but the availability displayed is just an estimate, because products are popular. The help article on stock says Specialbuys go quickly and the best way to get an idea is to go into a store.
- Read the estimate as a hint, not a hold A "in stock" flag can be stale by the time you park. Aldi has not published a reservation. Confirm on the shop floor.
- If the aisle is empty, stop There is no published Saturday refill of Thursday's list. See whether Aldi restocks baby Specialbuys after Thursday for what Aldi has and has not said.
What can the stock number not tell me?
- A live count. Aldi's own words: the availability displayed is just an estimate.
- Whether the box on the cage matches the leaflet photo. Specialbuys substitutions and delayed lines have their own Aldi delays page; dates vary by store and region.
- Whether you need the item. NHS Best Start in Life lists a short essential set. A middle-aisle highchair or monitor is optional kit.
- Recall status. Search the model on the GOV.UK Product Safety Alerts list after you can read the label. Not found is not an all-clear.

Questions parents ask
- When does the digital leaflet usually appear?
- Aldi does not publish a fixed clock on Understanding Specialbuys. In practice the digital flyer and emails land before the Thursday or Sunday date printed on each tile. If the flyer is not up, wait — do not use last event's PDF as this week's list.
- The stock checker says my store has the Moses basket. Can I send someone later?
- Treat it as an estimate. Aldi's help centre says Specialbuys go quickly and the best check is to go in. Nothing on those pages describes a hold.
- Is the leaflet a price that the till must match?
- Aldi's site terms say products and prices shown online should be treated as a guide and that the definitive price is the one listed in store at the point of purchase. Photograph the in-store ticket if the figures disagree.
- Can I still shop a baby event online if the leaflet has a web link?
- Aldi's current Specialbuys pages say the lines are exclusively available in store. Older blogs about online baby-event pre-orders describe a previous setup. Use the link to read the flyer, not to assume a delivery slot.
