Boots Parenting Club 8 points per pound: what products count?

What does 8 points per £1 actually apply to?

Two official sentences matter. The join page says members collect 8 points for every £1 spent on selected baby and child products. The on-page terms add that the 8-points offer is available on products in the baby area, and that Boots reserves the right to determine which products should be in this offer. There is no public SKU list. A nappy, wipe or baby wash on a baby-area fixture is the usual yes; a same-brand lotion from the adult-beauty bay is not something MayTally can certify.

Which? summarises the same club in one line: Parenting Club members can earn eight points per £1 spent on baby products until the child turns five. That is a paraphrase of Boots, not a second catalogue.

Standard Advantage Card earning, for lines that are not in the Parenting Club offer, is three points per £1 on qualifying purchases (Advantage Card terms and Boots UK newsroom, figures stated as at 28 February 2026). One point is worth one penny when you have enough points to cover a whole product — Boots does not allow part-payment with points.

Present the registered Advantage Card every time. Boots says the 8-points offer is not awarded retrospectively if the card was forgotten.

What does Boots exclude from the 8-points rate?

Quote the retailer, then stop. Do not invent a baby-aisle catalogue around the gaps.

Follow-on milks and toddler drinks after six months are not listed in that infant-milk exclusion. That is not the same as a promise they earn 8 points — they still have to sit in the baby-area set Boots has chosen that day.

How does a mixed basket work — nappies plus toothpaste?

The till can pay two rates in one shop. Selected baby-area lines can earn 8 points per £1. Other qualifying lines earn the standard 3 points per £1. Excluded lines (infant milk to six months, prescriptions, gift cards, delivery) earn none. Boots does not publish a worked example, so treat the receipt as the record: the points line should rise faster than 3p in the pound only on the baby-area share.

Paying with points is a third twist. Advantage Card terms say you do not qualify for Parenting Club extra points (or other club extras) on a purchase paid with points, and you cannot part-pay a line — the points balance must cover the product.

Why did I only get 3 points online, or nothing after I forgot my card?

Online 8 points need two things at once: the Advantage Card linked to the boots.com account, and you logged in when the order is placed. Boots' FAQ: Parenting Club points then apply automatically at checkout. A guest checkout, or a card that was never added under My Advantage Card, pays the standard web rate even if the same plastic card earns 8 points in store.

In store, a forgotten card can still collect ordinary points if a cashier validates the receipt and you return that receipt with the card within 30 days (Advantage Card terms). The 8-points Parenting Club offer is different: Boots says it will not be awarded retrospectively. Ask the cashier to look the registered card up at the time, rather than hoping a later receipt claim upgrades the rate.

Web points land after dispatch — Advantage Card terms say within five days of products being dispatched. A same-day app balance that still shows 3-per-pound on a baby-area order is often just that delay, or a missing link.
