Emma's Diary Mum-to-Be vs Bump-to-Baby: what's actually in the pack?
What does the official site list in each pack?
The July 2026 Emma's Diary how-to lists example products, then says pack contents can vary. Treat the table as a brand menu, not a packing slip. Nothing on that page is an NHS prescription or a medical endorsement.

Official records show a sample vitamin or cream in a free bag is a marketing insert. For pregnancy vitamins and feeding choices, use NHS Best Start in Life and your midwife, not the leaflet in the bag.
When does each pack unlock?
Mum-to-Be is timed from early pregnancy. Bump-to-Baby is timed from week 27. You still need a Parenting Club login and a voucher. Argos's FAQ times the second pack as "when the baby has arrived", which does not match week 27. If the app still greys out Bump-to-Baby, the brand clock has not opened that voucher yet.
Do the samples replace nappies, wipes or vitamins you buy?
No. Even the Bump-to-Baby "full pack of nappies" is one branded pack, not a month of changes. Wipes, breast pads and creams are try-before-you-buy sizes unless the bag happens to include a full retail pack that day.
- Nappies and wipes. Useful for a hospital bag or the first days. Size and count are not fixed on the public page.
- Breast pads. A starter handful, not a postnatal supply.
- Pregnacare or other vitamins. A sample. NHS pages cover folic acid and vitamin D as part of antenatal advice — ask your midwife what they want you to take.
- Coupons. Money-off slips for named brands. They expire and they are not cash.
Why do older blogs list a third pack?
Claim blogs from 2023 still describe Mum-to-Be, Bump-to-Baby and New Family. The July 2026 Emma's Diary page and the Argos FAQ both say two packs. A leftover New Family bag on a shelf does not put a third voucher back in the app.
In shortIn short: two live packs. Early bag is mostly liners, a vitamin sample and cream. Week-27 bag is the nappy-and-wipes one. Contents vary; the brand does not endorse the samples as medical kit.
Questions parents ask
- Will every Mum-to-Be pack contain Pregnacare and Sudocrem?
- The official page names those items as examples and then says contents vary. A Boots bag and an Argos bag from the same week can differ. Photograph what you were handed if you need to compare later.
- Is the Bump-to-Baby pack only nappies?
- No. The live list also names wipes, breast pads, nappy-change cream, sterilising tablets and laundry samples, plus coupons. The nappy pack is the item parents talk about most; it is not the whole bag.
- Are the products a medical endorsement?
- No. Emma's Diary is a commercial club run by Lifecycle Marketing. Sample brands pay to appear. For health decisions use NHS antenatal pages and the clinicians who know your pregnancy.
- Can I open the bag in the shop and swap items?
- Official pages describe a sealed gift pack. They do not offer a pick-and-mix till. If a pack is damaged or incomplete, that is a shop conversation, not a published swap scheme.
