Do Pampers Club samples require marketing consent in the UK?
What do the Club terms split into?
The UK Conditions of Participation describe two ways to take part. They do not publish a fixed points tariff on that page; the same terms say the points structure, bonus points, rewards and redemption rules can change. This guide does not invent a points value.

| Option in the terms | What you can do | What P&G says it does with your information |
|---|---|---|
| Full personalised Pampers Club experience | Use the website members’ area and the app to scan packs, collect points and redeem rewards | Uses registration data, the child’s date of birth, rewards-shop activity and product scans to deliver tailored rewards, personalised parenting content, member offers and bonus-point opportunities, and to send information about Pampers products and selected partners’ products via the app or email |
| Basic app-only points participation | Scan eligible codes, collect points and redeem point-based rewards | Does not use the information you provide for personalisation or marketing; processes only what is strictly necessary to run the app, allocate points and fulfil rewards |
Do website samples require a marketing tick?
The Club terms govern the app and the personalised programme. A welcome sample or voucher on pampers.co.uk is a separate form. MadeForMums’ freebies test recorded that signing up for Pampers Club freebies required agreement to the terms and an opt-in to email marketing “including product samples, emails, offers and coupons from Pampers Club and other P&G brands”, with a later opt-out inside the account.
The Pampers Club help centre page on samples and coupons (updated 26 January 2026) now points people to the app: download, register, scan codes, redeem points. It also lists “exclusive offers and promotions” among the reasons to join. That is the personalised fork unless you choose basic points-only.
If a live sample form still shows a mandatory marketing tick, that tick is the price of that path. The terms’ basic option is the documented way to scan nappy packs without personalisation or marketing.
How do I join points-only without personalised marketing?
- Open the UK app, not a third-party “free nappy” advert The Conditions say members log in with email and password. Camera scanning needs a separate consent. Store listings for the UK app sit under Pampers Club; ignore pages that only push a sample in return for a marketing list.
- Choose basic app-only points participation when the app offers the fork The terms say this option limits the app to scan-and-points and associated rewards, and that information is not used for personalisation or marketing. If the screen only offers the full experience, stop and read the boxes before creating a child’s profile.
- Skip profile fields the terms say are for tailoring Full personalised registration “may also be asked to provide additional information, such as the date of birth of their child”. Basic participation is described as possible without providing profile information for personalisation.
- Keep marketing boxes empty on any website sample form If the only way to request a posted sample is a mandatory P&G marketing opt-in, that is a different product from points-only. Decline the form and stay on the app fork, or leave.
- Confirm the account later Open profile settings and read which experience is active. The ICO’s right to object still applies to direct marketing if messages arrive on a channel you did not want.
What happens if I unsubscribe from Pampers emails?
The help centre page on closing an account says that after unsubscribing from the newsletter and Pampers communications, “you will no longer receive coupons, samples, or newsletters from us.” That sentence is Pampers’ own link between marketing mail and sample fulfilment.
The same page splits three exits: unsubscribe from emails; delete the account in the app under profile settings; or use the P&G My Data portal for a wider request covering Pampers, Pampers Club and other P&G brands. Deleting the account is a different act from turning off personalised emails while keeping points.
In shortIn short: the UK terms already document a points-only path that is not used for marketing. Posted samples and coupons have been tied, on the website path MadeForMums tested and on Pampers’ unsubscribe page, to marketing contact. Read the fork on the screen in front of you before you add a child’s date of birth.
Questions parents ask
- Can I collect points if I refuse the full personalised experience?
- The Conditions say yes: basic app-only participation is limited to uploading codes, collecting points and redeeming rewards, without personalisation or marketing. The live app must actually offer that fork. If it does not, the terms on the website are the document to quote to support.
- Do I have to give my child’s date of birth?
- The terms attach date of birth to the full personalised experience so content, offers and rewards can be tailored. Basic participation is described without profile information for personalisation. A website sample form may still demand a due date — that is the other path.
- If I opt out later, do my points disappear?
- The terms do not say that an email opt-out wipes a points balance. They do say points can expire after 12 months of inactivity, and that programme rules can change. Unsubscribing, on the help centre’s wording, stops coupons, samples and newsletters. Deleting the account is the step that removes the membership.
- Is this the same as Boots Parenting Club?
- No. Pampers Club is a P&G nappy-rewards programme with its own two-way fork. Boots Parenting Club is a retailer scheme and is covered on a different MayTally page.
