Whose address do I put on a baby club if grandparents collect the packs?

Is the store collection address the same as the club address?

Most UK baby clubs run two different jobs off one sign-up. One is a voucher or app barcode that a shop scans. The other is a name, email and postal address stored on the membership. Emma's Diary's own gift-pack page (checked 10 September 2026) walks through joining, then downloading or opening a voucher, then scanning it at Argos or Boots. A separate line on the same journey asks for details and an address so samples can be sent in the post.

If nan is only collecting a pack, her house does not have to go on the form. If her house is already on the form, collection in store does not stop post arriving there later.

Which letterbox should own the baby-club account?

The form is asking who should keep receiving mail after the first shop visit. Emma's Diary's Fair Data Notice says Lifecycle Marketing (Mother & Baby) Ltd may make registered details available to partner categories that include mother-and-baby goods, pharmacies and toiletries, insurance and other financial services, research, high-street shops and supermarkets, photography and utilities. That is a letterbox decision, not a till decision.

Put mum's current address if that is the house that should hold the membership. Put a grandparent's address only if that household has agreed to own whatever the club and its partners then post. The ICO's PECR guidance treats the recipient of marketing as the person whose consent matters — a relative collecting a bag does not, by itself, make their address the marketing address.

How do I let grandparents collect without moving the account?

   Create the club account in mum's details Use mum's name, her email and the postal address that should own samples. Read the partner and post tick-boxes before anyone else touches the form.

   Download or screenshot the voucher, do not hand over the password Emma's Diary says you can print a voucher from the website or scan the barcode from the app in Boots or Argos. A print-out or a locked-screen barcode is enough for the till. The login is what later changes the address and the marketing ticks.

   Send nan only what the shop needs The store page describes a scan, not ID. Nan needs a working barcode and the pack name (Mum-to-Be or Bump-to-Baby from week 27). She does not need the account password or a change of address.

   Leave the saved address alone after collection Picking up a pack does not update the letterbox. If you later stay at nan's and change the account address, posted samples and partner mail move with it — that is a different decision.

What still arrives if nan only collects the voucher pack?

The bag from Boots or Argos is a one-off handover. The membership keeps using the saved address. Emma's Diary's data FAQs say the club works with third-party partners and that the Preference Centre (website Profile, or the app's Preferences) is where those options are changed. Cancelling membership, on that same page, is described as suppressing details so the club and its third parties stop contacting them.

• Posted samples still follow the address on the form, even if nan already carried a pack home.
• Partner catalogues and offers follow the same saved details if those boxes were ticked at sign-up.
• Emails follow the inbox on the account, which may be mum's even when nan did the shopping.

Does a grandparent's name belong on the account?

Collection does not require putting nan's surname on the membership. Club copy is written for the person joining — Emma's Diary's pack page talks about joining the Parenting Club, then showing a voucher. Putting a different adult's name on the form so the post looks 'correct' for the doorbell mixes who the club thinks the member is with who is holding the bag.

If the household already uses nan's surname on the door, that is a delivery-label problem, not a reason to rename the account. Add the flat or house name in the address lines if the carrier needs it. Keep the member name as the person who actually joined.
