How do I apply for the Real Nappies for London voucher?

Who does Real Nappies for London say can apply?

The RNFL apply page (checked 10 September 2026) lists four groups, all living in a voucher-participating borough:

1. A parent with a baby aged under 18 months
2. A parent-to-be (expectant parent)
3. A parent with a child up to 5 years who needs nappies because of a disability
4. A foster carer with a baby under 18 months, or expecting to care for a baby under 18 months

Vouchers are issued per baby, not per parent or household. RNFL says childminders, nurseries, and people with no recourse to public funds cannot apply. Either parent may complete the form; most pregnancy documents will be in the mother’s name.

North London Waste Authority’s reusable-nappies guide asks “How do I get the £70 reusable nappies voucher?” and points to the same eligibility. The £70 figure is an up to amount for listed north London boroughs, not a promise for every London postcode.

How do I apply, and which documents do I send?

   Confirm your borough is on the live list Open the RNFL apply page and your home borough page (for example Brent’s reusable nappy voucher scheme). If the borough is missing, stop — a shop post is not funding.

   Complete the online form RNFL says the online form is the fastest route. You can also apply in person at a listed event or by appointment. E-vouchers are usually processed in two working days (two to three in the T&Cs); post can take up to 10 days.

   Upload three supporting documents RNFL asks for proof of identity (driving licence, passport or birth certificate), proof of address from the past month (council tax, phone, utility or bank statement — a driving licence is not accepted as address proof), and proof of pregnancy or birth.

   Use the right baby document RNFL lists a MAT B1, NHS prescription charge card, baby’s birth certificate, or hospital scan report. For twins or triplets it asks for the hospital scan report letter. Foster carers send a recent placement letter instead of the birth document.

   Wait for the email voucher, then spend it on the RNFL supplier list Add [email protected] to your contacts. The voucher must be used within six months, in one purchase, by the named applicant who still lives in the borough.

How much is the voucher in each borough?

The value is set by the home borough, not a UK-wide rate. Shop round-ups that still say £54.15 are quoting an old figure. RNFL’s apply page on 10 September 2026 listed these amounts:

What can the voucher be spent on?

RNFL T&Cs say the voucher can go towards reusable nappies, wraps, booster pads, liners, nappy grips and training pants, or a paid-for trial nappy laundry service, with a supplier on RNFL’s where-to-buy list.

• It cannot buy swim nappies, buckets, wet bags, reusable wipes, changing mats, clothes or other baby products
• It cannot be exchanged for cash, and there is no cash change if you spend less than the face value
• Only the person named on the voucher may use it, and only while they still live in the borough
