Asda dates and George 20% from Grocery Gazette, 8 September 2026 (Asda spokesperson). F&F dates and exclusions from PlayPennies posts checked 10 September 2026. Tu sale page checked 10 September 2026 — seasonal clearance only, not a dated baby-clothes event. Percentages are the retailers' stated tickets, not a measured saving on every SKU.

What is in the Asda Baby Event besides George clothing?

Grocery Gazette (8 September 2026) said Asda's Baby Event covers more than 740 infant products from 7 to 29 September, in stores and online, including Little Angels and branded grocery. Asda's own wording in that piece was savings of up to 60% on some branded lines — that is a ceiling, not a George clothing rate. Examples given were a Pampers 38-pack at £4 (from £9.98) and a Harmony car seat at £19.98 (from £40). Those are grocery-event tickets, not F&F comparisons.

George's clothing cut in the same story is 20% off selected baby clothing, nursery and toys. PlayPennies' 8 September 2026 "event now live" post matches that split: George for clothing and nursery, Asda groceries for changing, food and toiletries. Hooded towels and sleepsuits in that post were already reduced event prices, not a second 20% on top unless the ticket says so.

"Selected" is doing the work. A 20% rail still leaves full-price newborn basics. Read the product ticket, not the homepage banner.

What does Tesco F&F 25% actually include — and exclude?

Do not mix the baby F&F window with the adult F&F window. PlayPennies logged 25% off F&F baby and kids clothing with a Clubcard from 10 to 16 August 2026, and said underwear and socks were out. The same site then logged a separate adult F&F 25% (including sale lines) that ran to 9 September 2026, excluding underwear, socks, hosiery and accessories.

MoneySavingCentral says Tesco now ties both the baby event and the F&F clothing cut to a Clubcard. If you shop without the card, the 25% does not apply. January 2024's Tesco baby event, on Baby Event UK's history list, also bundled 25% off F&F for little ones — that is a pattern, not a promise that every grocery baby event includes clothing.

On 10 September 2026 the August F&F baby window had closed. Waiting for "the next 25%" is a calendar bet. George's 20% was the live supermarket baby-clothes ticket that day.

Does Tu at Sainsbury's usually follow George?

Not on a published lockstep. The Tu sale page on 10 September 2026 showed seasonal clearance "while stocks last" and a note that other promotional prices have applied. It did not list a 20% baby-event or a Clubcard-style 25% with a start and end date.

Treat Tu as a third ticket: useful if Sainsbury's is already your shop, not as an automatic echo of George's September window. Which?'s August 2026 grocery basket put Sainsbury's with Nectar at £185.55 and Tesco with Clubcard at £189.45 — again a food list, not a babygrow index.

How do I choose which clothes event to use?

  1. Write sizes you will use in the next two months Newborn rails turn over. A 20% or 25% cut on a size they have left is not a saving. This is not a size-chart page — take the child's current weight and the retailer's own chart in store.
  2. Check whether a window is live On 10 September 2026 George 20% (Asda Baby Event to 29 September) was the dated supermarket clothes ticket. The August F&F 25% had ended.
  3. Read exclusions on the ticket F&F baby cuts have excluded underwear and socks. Adult F&F T&Cs also exclude more categories. George is "selected" lines.
  4. Do not stack a grocery % onto clothing unless the ticket says so Asda's "up to 60%" wording in September 2026 press sat on branded grocery examples, not on George babygrows.
  5. Keep sleepwear checks separate from the percentage NHS lists simple cotton sleepsuits and vests. The Lullaby Trust says you do not need a large clothing shop for safer sleep. An event is for replacing worn kits, not filling a drawer.

In shortUse George when the Asda Baby Event is live and the 20% ticket covers the size you need. Use F&F when a Clubcard 25% window is actually on and the line is not excluded. Tu is a separate clearance, not an automatic third week.

Questions parents ask

Is George 20% better than F&F 25%?
Not as a rule. 25% of a higher ticket can still cost more than 20% of a lower one, and both offers are "selected" or exclusion-heavy. Compare the marked price on the size you need.
Do I need a Clubcard for F&F baby clothing offers?
PlayPennies and MoneySavingCentral both describe the 25% as Clubcard-only: present the card or app, or stay logged in online.
Is the Asda Baby Event only clothing?
No. Grocery Gazette said more than 740 infant products, including Little Angels and branded grocery, from 7 to 29 September 2026. George 20% is the clothing and selected nursery/toys slice.
When does Tu usually copy George?
We did not find a published follow-on calendar. On 10 September 2026 the Tu sale URL was seasonal clearance, not a dated baby-clothes event.
